Ingredients

  • 1 cup (250 ml) all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup (250 ml) sugar
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) unsweetened cocoa
  • 1/2 tsp (2 ml) baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp (2 ml) salt
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) Silk Dark Chocolate almond beverage
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) coconut oil
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) applesauce
  • 1 1/2 tsp (7 ml) vanilla
  • 4 oz (120 ml) bittersweet chocolate, chopped
  • Powdered sugar, if desired

Preparation

  • Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Coat a 20x20 cm (8" x 8") pan with cooking spray.
  • Sift together flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder and salt.
  • Stir in Silk, oil, applesauce and vanilla.
  • Mix in chopped chocolate and spread in prepared pan.
  • Bake for 40 minutes. Cool completely and refrigerate.
  • To serve, cut into squares and dust with powdered sugar, if desired.
