What People are Saying

True Almond Dark Chocolate drink is absolutely amazing :0)

- Ester
I really like the option of buying unsweetened products! I am enjoying the almond milk very much - although it is a bit thick - I just add some water and it is fine. Just wondering if you can give me a quick outline on how the almonds are processed (without sharing any proprietory info, of course!) - I'm always interested in the "background" of products - have been very surprised sometimes! That is why I am looking for alternatives to large-scale commercial dairy...thanks!

- Anne
Just wondering if you will come out with a larger size? Now that my family has cut out cow's milk we are going through almond milk at a rapid pace & 1 jug doesn't cut it for the week!

- Jennifer
I really like the almond milk but i hate the toast flavour and everyone in my household have the same problem and when i ask people if they ever try the almond milk most of them has the same problems the toasted flavour.what i would love is if you could make another almond milk without toasting the almond,i know some people must like the toasted flavour but thats the only problem i have with the product

- alex
I need to know if the Almond milk contains any traces of peanuts.

- A
I would love to see this almond milk made available in "juice box" size with a straw to pack in my children's lunches.

- Shelley
Hi Louis, Cathy at Silk here. Thanks for your comment. I checked in with our nutritionist, Andrea, and here's her response. "Currently all of our almond beverages are fortified with calcium at levels comparable to what's found in dairy milk. Calcium is an important nutrient that most of us are not getting enough of in our daily diets. There is no evidence to suggest that calcium intake causes arthritis - in fact, although the connection between diet and arthritis has been studied for a number of years, there is no conclusive evidence that particular diets/foods/nutrients have an effect on joint pain or arthritis symptoms. Also please note that we do offer True Almond in Unsweetened with no added sugar." Hope that helps!

- Cathy
I would love to see an almond beverage with more protein. I use milk as one of my main protein sources (as I don't consume any other animal (by) products), and it's the only reason I still drink soy milk.

- Izzy
See that calcium carbonate is added. This ingredient is one of the leading cause of arthritis.
Do you have almond milk without this ingredient?
Also questionable is the sweetener and the sodium.
I always purchase the pure almond milk with very few to no added ingredients.

Hi all-
Meghan from Silk here - Many of you have been asking for an Unsweetened Silk True Almond and I wanted to let you know that it has arrived! We just started shipping the product and it should be hitting shelves shortly. The website will be updated tomorrow with the product information. But we wanted to give our fans an early update that it's coming. Let us know your thoughts!

- Meghan
When will you have unsweetened in the stores? the U.S. has the Unsweetened Almond milk and its excellent. C.J.

- Colette
I too would welcome a sugar free version of True Almond.

- Shannon
I usually drink Black Diamond Almond Breeze -- Unsweetened. Please consider making an unsweetened version of Silk True Almond. 4 mg = 1 tsp. of sugar (all natural cane juice or otherwise) and most of us consume far more hidden sugar than we realize.

- Kim
I've recently gone non-dairy, and have chosen almond milk rather than soy. I've tried all the almond milk brands -- Silk is by far the best, with no chalky taste. It froths beautifully when steamed, too! Great in cereal. It can also be frozen but you need to do a lot of shaking after it's thawed. I wish they would market it in smaller containers because of the restricted refrigerated life since I'm a single person household.

Hi Lori,
I work on the brand team at Silk and wanted to let you know that we add sodium to True Almond to enhance the flavor and work as a stabilizer. We checked in with our nutritionist, Andrea, and she let us know that the 150 mg of sodium in True Almond is comparable to the amount of sodium in dairy milk. She added that foods that have 140 mg sodium or less are considered "low sodium". That said, we understand that there are many people who are looking to reduce their sodium, and we're actively pursuing ways to reduce it wherever possible in Silk. Thanks for your feedback.

- Meghan
Hi all- I work on the brand team. Thank you all so much for all of your comments. We love to hear what our consumers think and are looking for. We will take this into account as we develop new products.

- Meghan
I h-ave not tried yet but am waiting for a coupon which you have advertised - please send me one.

- Irene
This sounds great--great taste and fewer calories--and still filled with required nutrients

- Lolita
This almond drink sounds great.

- Vivian
Even though I have never had your almond drink I would love to try it as I'm a big fan of almond flavour!!

- Viv I.B.
Why is there sodium in the almond milk????

- Lori
Non sweetened almond milk would be welcome. There is enough sugar in everything else.

- Jay
love almond milk, we did use soy vanilla until the switch; soy vanilla milk also drank w/ dark rum , excellent
mix; almond good in porridge 0r cold cereal; actually use it in baking too; and we use silk chocolate milk a
good drink right after a workout.

- Kenneth
Don't remove the sugar... or at least offer a tasty sugar sensitive form for Shauna... I like it sweet!

- Sarah
I'd like to see how it compares with Almond Breeze... I usually prefer So Good for a soy beverage, but my vegan family members prefer Silk... I'll try the almond kind (as I am lactose intolerant) and would like to see the difference.

- Sarah
Please make your almond beverage in unsweetened form. We don't need the sugar. Thanks!

- Shauna
A cup of warm milk before bedtime helps you sleep!

- Cindy
Sounds wonderful...a great way to get the almonds needed in my diet

- Pauline
I too would love to see unsweetened almond Almond milk please.

- Anne
TRES BON AU GOUT. C EST CELLE QUE JE PREFERE.

I tryed Silk True Almond but now I can not find it in any stores around me. I ask the fellow in the milk department and he said he is having a hard time getting it. Why.

I like Silk True Almond, but it has way too much sugar (7 g per cup). If I had easier access to Blue Diamond Almond Breeze (which has no sugar), then I would not have started drinking Silk True Almond. But Silk True Almond seems to be in more grocery stores (at least in Vancouver, Canada - where I am living). So, if you want to get more people to drink Silk True Almond, then having an unsweetened version would be the perfect solution.

- Nicole
Forgot to ask also why the salt?

- Jackie
I have to agree with some of your consumers about the sweetener. How come? I also have tried other brands that are unsweetened and while I admit I do drink it in a latte form I also add 1/8tsp of cinnamon for flavour and it tastes just fine sans sugar. The cinnamon is good for you too. Almond milk also lowers the acidity in your body just for anyones info. Thanks for listening.

I was really excited to find out that almond milk was part of the Silk lineup. I have been making my own almond milk for the last year and thought it would be convenient to be able to buy some as well. I was horribly disappointed when I tried True Almond. It's too thick (why was thickener added?) and too sweet. And the grey colour doesn't look appetizing either. I will definitely never buy the almond milk again. I didn't even finish my first carton.

- Amanda
Linda- I would on the Silk Brand team. Thanks for your feedback. We use Vitamin D2 in our Silk products because it is a vegan source of Vitamin D (derived from yeast), which is important to many consumers seeking out non-dairy milk alternatives. Vitamin D3 is an animal source, derived from lanolin (oil from sheep's wool). Several studies suggest that Vitamin D2 and D3 are absorbed equally well, although there are some studies that have suggested Vitamin D3 is better absorbed. This continues to be an area of active research. Each serving of Silk TrueAlmond provides 45% of the DV of Vitamin D per 250mL.

- Meghan
I switched from dairy milk to almond milk several months ago and am enjoying the product but I would like to know why the D supplement you add to your milk is D2 rather than D3. Many studies indicate it's the D3 that is the most beneficial for your body. I do take a D3 supplement but I would also like to see it in my Almond milk. The D in dairy milk is D3 and I hope to see your company change to that.

- Linda
I work on the brand team for Silk. Thanks for all your feedback. We are so happy you are enjoying our new product. Good news - we do offer coupons on our website when you sign up as well as when you join us on Facebook.

One of my children cannot consume ANY cow's milk proteins, and we have been through the gammut of alternate products trying to find something she likes and that's also good for her. The Silk products totally fit the bill, and i join her in enjoying a glass of chocolate Silk every now and then. It's good to see Silk products that are calorie-wise, and we'll definitely try them out. For people like Barb on a fixed budget, why not offer coupons?

- Maureen
Ingredients list "zinc glutonate". Is the product in fact gluten-free?

- mark
I agree with the others, please consider making an unsweetened version and a smaller size!!

- Gina
I like the new True Almond, but for my taste, it is too sweet. You need to offer an unsweetened version.

- steve
True Almond is delicious with a hint of nutty almond, its wonderful in my coffee each and every day .

- Sue
Best product on the market by far...and I have tried them all!!! THANK YOU!
~Lindsay

- Lindsay
I really enjoy the creamy and thicker texture of the Silk True Almond milk. With most brands you can feel a powdery texture, but not with yours! A wonderful surprise that I now look forward too.

- alyssa
I am curious to know if the cane used in your sweetened Almond milk is also non-GMO?

- Q
I work on the brand team for Silk. Thank you all for your comments on the new True Almond Original. We appreciate your feedback.

J - A serving is 1 cup (250mL)
Susan - We will keep this in mind as we look at what products we should create next.

We do value your comments as we work to bring you the best products possible.

Why don't you make the All Natural Almondmilk UNSWEETENED? It does not need to be sweetened. I have been drinking Unsweetened Natural Almond Breeze and really like it. I would like to try Silk True Almond but do not want to have the added sugar.

- Susan
60 cals a serving - but how much is a serving? One cup or less?

- J
I was happy to find a reasonably priced almond milk that was also fortified with Vitamin D. Now if only you would make an unsweetened version, it would be perfect!

- Marianne
Silk True Almond is amazing! I can't believe the smooth texture and taste. I found it to be a much better flavour than soy and I've been drinking soy milk for a long time! This product has a wonderful mild flavour when used in cooking - especially in "cream" sauces for pasta. Super happy with True Almond! Keep making it! ~Alisha

- Alisha
I enjoy Silk True Almond very much. I'm wondering though if you could add Calcium Citrate instead of Calcium Carbonate to this very nutritious product so consumers like me do not end up with constipation due to drinking your Almond milk? Thank you for taking the time to read my letter. - KB

- Kathy
would be nice to try this product out in a small size version, being a senior on a fixed income to try something and find it isn't to our liking is a waste of money. So. have trial size versions of all your products , then we can try them all at a lower cost.
